We encourage you to use our facilities in seeking employment and Cooperative Education opportunities. A Jackson State University student from any curricular area may enter the Cooperative Education Program upon successful completion of the freshman year. Transfer students must complete one semester at Jackson State before their first placement. Students who fail to maintain a good academic standing (2.5 - 4.0) are not eligible for the Co-op program. In order to facilitate your use of our office services, please follow these guidelines.

How To Sign Up For An Interview

2. Select those companies you wish to interview with and note the dates these interviews are scheduled. NOTE: YOU MAY INTERVIEW WITH A MAXIMUM OF FOUR (4) COMPANIES PER MONTH, UNLESS SPECIAL PERMISSION IS GRANTED THROUGH THE PLACEMENT CENTER. Please do not sign-up to interview with employers previously interviewed with, unless requested by the employer.

3. Please read data on the sign-up schedule carefully to make sure you meet the requirements ( i.e., major, degree, date of graduation, G.P.A, etc.) before you sign up for an interview. NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT MEET THE STATED REQUIREMENTS, YOUR NAME WILL BE TAKEN OFF THE INTERVIEW SCHEDULE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE. Please read the information carefully. If you have any questions, please ask the Placement Staff for assistance.

4. Please respond with your name, major, graduation date, and phone number at an available interview time that does not conflict with your class schedule. If the schedule is full, please sign the waiting list.

5. Make a note of interview dates and times for your personal records. CANCELLATIONS MUST BE MADE A MINIMUM OF 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE INTERVIEW DATE IN ORDER TO REMAIN IN GOOD STANDING WITH THE PLACEMENT CENTER. IF YOU DO NOT GIVE A NOTICE OF CANCELLATION, YOUR NAME WILL BE REMOVED FROM ALL INTERVIEW SCHEDULES FOR THE SEMESTER. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO INTERVIEW THROUGH THE PLACEMENT CENTER FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SEMESTER.

Prior To Interview
1. Prior to the interview, read available company literature and/or view video tape(s) on file in the Career Counseling and Placement Center.
