Introduction
The Student Handbook, prepared by the Office of the Dean of Student Life and the Stubdent Publications office, is updated annually. It serves as a ready reference to the major regulations relevant to students at Jackson State University. 

Many of the policies are presented here in an abridged form;  more detailed statements may be obtained from the Office of the Dean of Student Life, 102-Student Life Building. Where appropriate, the administrative office or individual with responsibility for developing, changing, or implementing specific policies has been noted.  Students should also consult the Undergraduate or Graduate Catalog for policies relevant to academic programs.

Policies and procedures of Jackson State University are dynamic.  New ones will be developed and current ones will be modified as the need arises.  As changes are made, they will be published to the student body in a timely manner using various media, including written statements and electronic media.
