Health services are provided to Jackson State University students, faculty and staff at the University Health Center. Students desiring to see the doctor must sign in at least 30 minutes prior to being seen. A nurse/practitioner is available during office hours. A nightly and weekend on-call schedule has been repaired to handle after hour emergencies.

Information regarding student health insurance may be obtain through the University Health Center. In case of emergencies, students are required to report to the Student Health Center first before going to any hospital and/or private physician for any illness or injury to be covered by the university health plan. Otherwise, the student will be responsible for all encumbered expenses. If a student becomes ill or injured after clinic hours, contact should be made with dormitory personnel or Campus Police (979-2580) immediately.
