Group Tours
Groups of prospective students and other visitors come to the JSU
campus year round. They travel from all corners of the United
States and foreign countries also to gain a personal view of
one of the country's premier, historically black universities.
Many groups include Jackson State on their agenda of southern
college tours, combining culture, education and entertainment
while allowing the student to gain exposure to the process of
moving from high school to the college environment.
Walking Tour
A walking tour of the beautiful campus includes the historical points
and highlights of the more than 100-year-old site of Mississippi's
Urban University. Caption & tour group photo Also included in
the group tour is an overview of admission requirements, student
life, academic offerings, scholarships, sports, extracurricular activities
and other opportunities available at Jackson State University. Tour
groups must make an appointment with the recruitment office in order
to be accommodated. Important information such as the number in the
group, age of the group participants, time of arrival and if the
group will have lunch on campus allows the recruiter who tours to
make appropriate arrangements.
Private Visit and Tour
Families are accommodated with a private visit and campus tour, which
usually includes a visit to the academic department the student is
choosing as a major in college. In addition, a visit with the Financial
Aid Office and other areas of concern and interest can be included
to help ensure a smooth transition for the student and the family.
