Groups of Five or Less
Groups of five or fewer people may call the Office of Undergraduate
Recruitment to request and confirm a campus visit. To make arrangements
for a campus visit, please call Linda Rush, Director, Office
of Undergraduate Recruitment, at 1-800-848-6817 or directly at
(601) 979-2914.
Groups of More Than Five
Due to the overwhelming number of requests for campus tours,
the following procedures must be followed.
- The request for the
tour must be in writing. The tour coordinator must either
mail or
fax the request to our office: subsequently,
the tour will be confirmed in writing within 48 hours.
- Upon
arrival to campus, the chaperone must present his/her confirmation
letter to Campus Police officer stationed at the campus
entrance. This process is necessary in order to ensure an informative
presentation of Jackson State University and to notify
Campus
Police of campus
visitors. Each member of the group will be given a visitor's
badge, which must be worn throughout the visit.
- If a group
does not arrive within an hour of their scheduled time without
notification, we cannot guarantee a walking
tour and the length to the orientation session may
be limited due
to the possible unavailability of staff and student
ambassadors.
- Each group will participate in an orientation about
Jackson State University and will be given a walking
tour of
the campus taking
no more than two hours for completion. Each group
member will be given an information packet. If the recruitment
schedule permits, a recruiter will conduct the orientation;
otherwise,
a student
ambassador will conduct the orientation. After the
tour, each
student and chaperone will be asked to evaluate the tour.
Visitors
are always welcome at Jackson State University. All
campus tours are routinely scheduled Monday through Friday
between
10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. with prior notice. Note: Visitation
excludes holidays. Tours must be confirmed by the Office
of Undergraduate Recruitment.
